Why Lakeway Concrete

The work that goes in is the work you can't see.

A great-looking slab starts with a base, a rebar pattern, and a cure schedule most people will never look at. We overbuild every layer of every pour — because the surface is only as good as what's underneath it.

  1. 01

We walk the site, not just the satellite view

We measure, slope-shoot, and check drainage in person. We pull Travis County records for easements and confirm HOA and city requirements before we quote.

  2. 02

We spec the base for the Hill Country, not for the brochure

Six to eight inches of compacted limestone base, a 10-mil vapor barrier where the slab is enclosed, and a 4–6 inch slab with the right rebar pattern for the load.

  3. 03

We pour what we quoted, not what's convenient

If the spec calls for 4,000 PSI with fiber mesh and #3 rebar on 18-inch centers, that's what gets installed. We do not change mixes on the day of the pour to save a few dollars.

  4. 04

We stick around for the cure

We apply curing compound, keep the slab moist for 7 days, and check on the pour at 24 hours, 3 days, and 7 days. A slab that cures well is a slab that lasts 30 years.

What homeowners say after the work is done

"Pool builders wanted $14k for the deck, Lakeway Concrete did it for $9,400 with a better finish. I called the pool builder to ask why. The answer was 'we subcontract that out.' So now I know who they are subcontracting to."

"Our 1970s driveway was a mess. They pulled the old slab, rebuilt the base, and poured a new driveway and a matching walkway in four days. The crew was polite, the project manager answered my texts within an hour, and the price matched the quote exactly."
Jules & Owen Bergmann
Old Lakeway · Replacement driveway + walkway
"We did a complete tear-down and rebuild. The foundation is the part of the house I never see, and the part of the budget I was most nervous about. Lakeway Concrete gave me an engineer's name, a written spec, a fixed-price quote, and a date. They hit all three. The pour took 6 hours."

Common questions

The questions we get on every first call

How quickly can you start my project?
Most residential projects can start within 2–4 weeks of the signed contract, depending on the season. In the spring and summer, we are typically 3–5 weeks out. In the fall and winter, we can usually start within 1–2 weeks. We will give you a specific start date when we send the quote.
Do you pull permits, or is that on me?
We handle the entire permit process for any project that requires one — most foundation and flatwork work inside the city limits of Lakeway, Bee Cave, West Lake Hills, Lago Vista, and Jonestown. For work in unincorporated Travis County, permits are often not required for residential flatwork. We will confirm with your specific city or county before the work starts.
How long will my project take from quote to completion?
For a typical residential driveway or patio, the timeline is 1–2 weeks from the site visit to the written quote, 2–4 weeks from quote to start, and 3–7 days for the actual work. Foundations, retaining walls, and large stamped projects take longer. We give you a clear timeline on the quote and stick to it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Lakeway Concrete is a Texas-licensed concrete contractor with full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We provide certificates of insurance with every quote and add the homeowner as an additional insured for the duration of the project.
What does your warranty cover?
We warranty our workmanship for 5 years on residential projects. The warranty covers cracking related to base failure, surface defects from improper finishing, and joint failure. It does not cover hairline cracks (which are normal in concrete), damage from tree roots, settlement from utility work, or surface wear from improper use. We provide a written warranty with every project.
Do you do small repair jobs, or only full projects?
We do both. Our minimum service call is $750, which covers most small crack repairs, joint resealing, and spall patches. We have a dedicated repair crew and we do not consider any job too small.
